The School of Business at Quinnipiac University invites dynamic, innovative, and student-focused educators to join our Finance Department as a tenure-track Associate Professor of Finance beginning in Fall 2027.
The School of Business seeks a faculty member who can contribute not only through excellence in teaching and scholarship, but also through leadership in program development, faculty collaboration, industry engagement, and strategic initiatives.
The successful candidate will help shape the future direction of finance education, contribute to strategic initiatives across the School of Business, and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of the department's nationally recognized finance and financial technology programs.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a record of academic accomplishment and evidence of leadership potential in areas such as curriculum development, program administration, faculty governance, industry engagement, junior faculty mentoring, student mentoring, and strategic initiatives.
We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests contribute to the evolving intersection of Finance, Financial Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, FinTech, Healthcare Finance, Biotechnology, and data-driven decision making. We welcome candidates employing both traditional and emerging approaches to important questions in finance. Opportunities exist for interdisciplinary collaboration with faculty across the School of Business and the broader university in areas related to analytics, artificial intelligence, technology, law, healthcare, and innovation.
Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate and graduate courses in finance, including Investments, Portfolio Management, Corporate Finance, Financial Markets and Institutions, Financial Analytics, FinTech, Decentralized Finance (DeFi), and related areas. The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to the continued development of innovative programs in Financial Technology, Financial Analytics, Healthcare Finance, and AI applications in finance.
Candidates should demonstrate an established and sustained record of scholarly achievement, with evidence of continuing contributions to high-quality finance research. The department is particularly interested in candidates whose scholarship explores how emerging technologies are reshaping financial markets, institutions, firms, and investors. Relevant areas may include, but are not limited to:
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning in financial decision-making
- Asset pricing
- Investment analysis
- Portfolio management
- Financial analytics and predictive modeling
- Alternative data and computational finance
- FinTech innovation
- Digital assets, blockchain, and decentralized finance
- Generative AI and large language models in finance

The School of Business is a thriving, student-centered community that serves approximately 1,450 undergraduate students and 550 graduate students. We offer 13 undergraduate majors, 15 minors, 3 dual-degree programs, 4 accelerated dual-degree programs, and 5 graduate degree programs, delivered through both in-person and online formats. The school is AACSB accredited in business and holds the distinctive AACSB accreditation in accounting. Our success is reflected in our 99% placement rate among undergraduate and graduate students.
Our community includes 60 full-time faculty members, administrators, and professional staff who share a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service. As a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (UNPRME), we seek to prepare students to make meaningful contributions to organizations and society.

Quinnipiac School of Business faculty also benefit from a wide range of resources that support both scholarship and teaching, including the User Experience & Behavioral Insights Lab, Financial Technology Center, Analytics & Applied AI Lab, Content Creation Studio, and the Sales Center. About the Department
The Finance Department offers a collaborative and intellectually vibrant environment where faculty are committed to excellence in both teaching and scholarship. As the largest major in the School of Business, the department offers both a B.S. in Finance and a B.S. in Financial Technology. Faculty also contribute to graduate education through the MBA and Professional MBA programs.
What truly distinguishes the Quinnipiac finance experience is the opportunity to connect classroom learning with industry engagement at the highest levels. The department oversees the Quinnipiac University Global Asset Management Education Forum (GAME), the largest student-run finance conference in the world. Each year, GAME brings together nearly 1,500 students and faculty from more than 125 global colleges and universities, creating unparalleled opportunities for faculty and students to engage with and learn from renowned leaders across the financial industry.
Faculty and students also benefit from access to our state-of-the-art Financial Technology Center, which supports experiential learning and serves as the home of the department’s $6.0 million student-managed investment fund. Together, these programs create a rich environment where faculty can mentor students, pursue innovative ideas, and connect academic learning with professional practice.

Qualifications:
|
Primary Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, or closely related field from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching
- Ability to engage students in active and experiential learning
- Scholarly activity sufficient to meet Quinnipiac University School of Business AACSB Scholarly Academic standards
- Demonstrated ability to contribute positively to a collaborative academic environment
- Demonstrated experience leading academic, professional, or strategic initiatives
- Experience with curriculum development, assessment, or program innovation
- Experience building partnerships with industry, alumni, or external stakeholders
- Experience mentoring junior faculty and students
- Evidence of successful collaboration across departments or disciplines
- Interest in future leadership opportunities within the department, school, or university
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using programming, statistical, or analytical tools such as Python, R, SQL, machine learning frameworks, or related technologies
- Prior experience teaching experience in Financial Analytics, FinTech, or AI-related finance courses.
- Evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration involving technology and finance.
