6A Medicine Pulmonary is a unique medicine unit caring for patients with a wide variety of medical conditions including pulmonary, cardiac, renal, endocrine and more. 6A features the capability to accommodate up to 12 Med/Surg patients on cardiac monitoring and up to 3 patients requiring care on ventilators, as well as provide specialty infusions to patients with pulmonary hypertension. Nurses are cross trained to provide care on a separate secure unit as well, gaining additional knowledge of chemotherapy administration, one-day stay and ambulatory care for patients in custody.

6K Med/Surg is a 16 bed inpatient general medicine floor with telemetry capability for all 16 beds. We are centrally located near the ICUs, where we get patients from, as well as the ED and other inpatient areas. We provide care to patients with a variety of acute medical conditions and multiple co-morbidities. Our medicine unit is unique in that we have single rooms with 3 negative pressure rooms that are used for patients requiring airborne isolation.
