Job Summary:

The Critical Care Float Advanced Practice Provider will serve as a Full Time APP providing care to patients at SUNY Upstate Downtown Campus. The APP will work in collaboration with the critical care team, completing bedside procedures, consults and admissions, and care management of the critical care patients. Responsibilities include providing expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care assessing & evaluating patients, ordering appropriate laboratory testing & diagnostic studies, arranging for referrals, testing, consultation & therapeutic services, and maintaining outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians & all members of the health care team.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required. Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant & current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice also required. Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.

CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Critical care, medicine experience preferred

Work Days:

8-12 hour shifts, days and nights, with weekend and holiday rotation
