Job Summary:
The Safe Patient Handling Assistant assists with Upstate's Safe Patient Handling Program for the inpatient and ambulatory settings. Responsible for assisting in the development, coordination, facilitation, implementation, and evaluation of Upstate's Safe Patient Handling policies, procedures, guidelines, and education program. Responsible for ongoing work to sustain and improve the Safe Patient Handling Program including teaching and training staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS licensed & registered Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, or Occupational Therapy Assistant, degree required for licensure, and four years of experience required. CPR-BLS certification required at time of appointment. Candidates will be considered for commensurate title and salary based on credentials.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Safe Patient Handling regulations and standards in addition to formal or informal teaching experience in an adult education setting preferred.

Mon-Fri 8-4:30
