Job Summary:

The Nursing Quality Coordinator (NQC) will report to the Nursing Quality and Safe Patient Handling Program Manager. This role will oversee all nurse-sensitive indicators to include all hospital patient falls-witnessed, unwitnessed, & falls with injuries, Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTI), Central Line Associated Blood Infections (CLABSI), Clostridium Difficile Infections (CDIFF), and Hospital Acquired Pressure Injuries (HAPIs). The NQC, will review high-incidence units of the identified NSI and provide nursing education, complete root cause analysis, data analysis, and patient care outcomes. The role is to be a leader in the implementation of evidence-based practices impacting nurse-sensitive quality indicators. Provides education, training, clinical support, and collaborating with nursing leaders and bedside staff in establishing, identifying, and developing standards for evidence-based nursing practices impacting quality outcomes. Partners with nurse leadership, nursing staff, providers, families, and caregivers to review case studies, identify process improvements and implement evidence-based clinical interventions in a safe, effective, patient-centered manner. Collects and analyzes comprehensive data related to nurse-sensitive quality adverse events, and assesses data for educational gaps and opportunities for improvement. Must have the ability to analyze and interpret data which is essential to facilitate, design, and develop process improvement initiatives based on findings. The role will focus on care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) Registered Nurse required. Associates degree in Nursing with a minimum of four years of post RN licensure clinical experience providing direct patient care or Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a minimum of two years of post RN licensure clinical experience providing direct patient care required. Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including using evidence-based practice, and strong presentation skills are required. CPR-BLS is required by the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Specialty certification preferred or ability to obtain specialty certification within 2 years of hire. Formal teaching at the bedside is preferred.

Work Days:

Monday thru Friday with occasional off shifts based on operational needs
