Job Summary: |
Faculty level position. Candidate will be an expert in imaging methods, including but not limited to light, fluorescence, confocal, 2-photon, super-resolution, light sheet, and spin disc microscopy as well as familiar with TEM and SEM. As director of the neuroscience microscopy core, this person may establish educational programs for students and faculty (see below), establish collaborations with PIs with high-end or high-throughput imaging needs, consult on issues of scientific rigor, data analysis and storage. Will determine the imaging needs of the community and research suitable equipment to meet the need, including submitting extramural grants to fund the purchase of new equipment. Expected to develop a training program for core users, as well as an education track covering microscopy concepts, image acquisition, and image analysis based on courses or workshops (to be eventually developed as a micro-credential). |
Minimum Qualifications: |
A PhD in Neurosciences or related area. Five or more years experience with managing a microscopy core, including training of microscopy image acquisition and analysis. Experience teaching graduate level courses in microscopy concepts. Ability to learn and teach new methods in microscopy.

Preferred Qualifications: |
Expertise in multiple imaging modes, including light, fluorescence, confocal, 2-photon, super-resolution, light sheet, and spin disc microscopy. Experience running a core imaging facility serving a research community, preferably in an academic environment.
