Residence Conduct Coordinator (Student Services Professional III) Chico
The Residence Conduct Coordinator (RCC) staff are responsible for the daily functions of a student conduct curriculum and policy accountability. RCCs will meet with students who have violated a University Housing policy outlined in the "University Housing Policy Guide." Day-to-day work is performed independently, however incumbent also serves as a member of the Residence Life team comprised of the Associate Director for Residence Life, five Residence Conduct Coordinators (RCC), five Residence Life Coordinators (RLC), the Senior Coordinator for Leadership and Development, Senior Coordinator for Conduct and Compliance, and Hub Program Coordinator. CSU, Chico has an on-campus student housing population of 2,400. The RCC's primary responsibility is adjudicating conduct cases; additionally they provide conduct related programming, customer service, resource referrals, and crisis response. Incumbents deal with complex, sensitive situations, and must use sound professional judgment and successful counseling techniques to effectively interact with college students. This position also co-supervises 6-18 Resident Advisors. This is a live-in position that emphasizes student development as well as community management. The Residence Life staff is on-call 24 hours a day, however, actual working time is varied and flexible and opportunity for adequate time off is available. May include late night, early morning, and weekend commitments as situations dictate/require.
Dream Center Coordinator (Student Services Professional III) Chico
Under the general direction of the Director, the Coordinator performs moderately complex professional student service work and is responsible for the oversight, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of services, programs, events, and activities to engage and promote the success of undocumented students and students from mixed-status immigrant families at CSU, Chico. Dream Center Coordinator is the expert for our undocumented student population—incumbent has decision-making authority. The incumbent will be relied upon to provide insight, leadership, direction, and coordination to areas of responsibility. The incumbent uses sound professional judgment and advanced analytical and interpersonal skills in dealing with complex, sensitive information and situations to effectively serve students; and recommend best practices and solutions to sensitive situations, critical issues, and opportunities. Lead Plumber Chico
Under general supervision, the Lead Plumber works with and is in charge of a small group or crew of skilled Plumbers and semi-skilled assistants involved in completing the work outlined in CSU Classification and Qualification Standards (Standard) for the Plumber classification series. In addition to Plumber duties, the Lead Plumber has the additional responsibilities of providing lead work direction to several journey-level crafts workers and semi-skilled assistants, laying out and coordinating the work flow for jobs, and preparing materials lists and ordering supplies for jobs. This position spends the majority of time working as a skilled plumber, but has ancillary lead work and project planning responsibilities.
Building Service Engineer Chico
Working independently, under general supervision, Building Service Engineers perform maintenance and repair work on a wide range of heating, ventilating, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical, refrigeration, air conditioning, water systems and auxiliary equipment. Incumbent will operate, test, adjust, and calibrate, boiler, air conditioning machinery, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or microprocessor control instruments. Building Service Engineers monitor building systems data, adjust systems accordingly and respond to service requests to adjust airflow, temperature and humidity balances for individual rooms, building areas or buildings. The duties include testing and chemically treating boiler, condenser, and cooling tower water and water from other systems, as well as maintenance, inspection, diagnoses and emergency repairs for systems. Building Service Engineers may need to solder, braze or weld pipe in underground vaults or in mechanical rooms. Incumbent will regularly use features of building automation systems to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in the HVAC systems and adjust to optimize energy conservation, and may maintain logs of maintenance and repairs, using manual and computerized record-keeping systems, and provide instruction and/or work with semi-skilled or unskilled assistants. Duties also include swimming pool maintenance, and work on bearings, shafts, seals, rings and electrical wiring and installation of central system parts, gages, valves and pipes. This position requires the application of journey-level skills in one or more of the applicable trades. Incumbents are expected to rotate through various shift assignments at the central plant to fill in for Operating Engineers on a relief basis as needed.

CSU, Chico has an on campus student housing population of approximately 2,200 students. RLCs provide educational programs, customer service, counseling referrals, and crisis response. Incumbents deal with complex, sensitive situations, incumbent must use sound professional judgment and successful counseling techniques to effectively interact with college-age students. The RLC position co-supervises 6-18 Resident Advisors assigned to a given community. They also directly supervise the students employed at service desks. Additionally, the RLC position has overall advisory and leadership responsibility for Community Council.
