CNSM Student Success Center Instructional Student Assistant (Tutor) Pool
POSITION
The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Student Success Center (NSM SSC) hires peer tutors for the following subjects; Biological Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Geology, Mathematics, and Physics. The NSM SSC is open to all CSUF students and provides peer tutoring for all CSUF students taking courses in the College of NSM.
Notification of employment acceptance will occur when all references have been contacted and grades have been posted.
APPOINTMENTS FROM THE POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MAY BE OFFERED EMPLOYMENT ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be a currently enrolled CSUF undergraduate student in good academic standing.
Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
Tutors must be enrolled in at least 6 units and earn a B or better in the courses they are tutoring, verified by the Titan Degree Audit.

COMPENSATION
All Instructional Student Assistant appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers. Initial appointments are for one semester only.
Classification Range: $17.01 - $22.70 per hour Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $18.00

The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment.
