Salary

Classification Range $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $16.00.

20/hrs a week. Preferred to have a consistent schedule between 8am to 5pm

Job Summary

Under direct supervision, Student Assistants perform duties ranging from unskilled to skilled and/or specialized, in a variety of positions that typically require the use of manual, clerical, public contact, and/or analytical skill. Assignments have limited use of discretion and judgment. Work is regularly reviewed and may entail detailed instructions. Specific job duties are defined by the appropriate campus department.

• Assist Information Technology Staff and Management with day to day operations and office logistics, student timekeeping support as needed, scheduling meetings and assisting other student workers with logistics support.
• Assist IT Application Development and Development staff with ATI Compliance projects (Training will be provided), tasks include: Identification of outdated campus webpages / broken links and testing web applications (quality assurance).
• Perform other duties as assigned or assist staff directly with various specific projects such as monthly reporting / goals, phone communications with vendors and campus departments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Essential Qualifications
• Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office Software such as MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Skills such as web development, .HTML, ASP.net are preferable but not required.
• Strong interpersonal skill and excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work and communicate well with all levels of personnel including staff, faculty and students
• Diligent, highly motivated, follow directions, and attention detail oriented
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
• Able to start work immediately or within short notice
• Prefer at least 2 years remaining at CSUF due to the nature of learning and assimilating campus and department specific duties
• Possess a strong desire to learn and educate themselves in basic to intermediate Information Technology skills, software and tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.

Background Check

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act Notification:
Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
