Classification Range $16.50 - $24.00 per hour

Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $16.50

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (occasional weekend and evening hours)

Job Summary

Under direct supervision, Student Assistants perform duties ranging from unskilled to skilled and/or specialized, in a variety of positions that typically require the use of manual, clerical, public contact, and/or analytical skill. Assignments have limited use of discretion and judgment. Work is regularly reviewed and may entail detailed instructions. Specific job duties are defined by the appropriate campus department.

Under the supervision of the area coordinator, the student assistant duties include but are not limited to:
Assist Department and Dean’s Office on various projects or programs;
General office duties such as providing an inviting, clean and supportive environment for students, answer phones and emails, making copies, etc.;
Cleaning and operational assistance of College of Education Department & Dean’s offices;
Support and assist with basic excel and accounting duties for the College Fiscal Analyst;
Assist with basic marketing and student-centered social media outreach to the campus and beyond;
Assist staff, management and faculty with special projects;
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills (writing sample will be collected during interview);
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally with students, staff, and faculty;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with ongoing interruptions with minimal supervision and with great attention to detail;
  • Ability to use independent judgment, critical thinking skills and analytical skills.
  • Customer service experience;
  • Students interested in a career in education;
  • Undergraduate level student.

Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act Notification:
Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
