Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $18 per hour.

Job Summary

Resource Planning & Budget is looking for a student assistant to provide general administrative support to the College Park 3rd floor customer service counter/desk. This part-time position works a maximum of 20 hours per week.

Provide shared administrative assistance to the Resource Planning & Budget Department by performing administrative duties such as:

  • Greeting internal and external campus visitors, responding to in-person inquiries, answering phones, responding to emails, filing, copying, scanning, assist in managing the 3rd floor conference room reservations, scheduling and managing various calendars, sorting and delivery of 3rd floor campus mail, making deliveries around campus
  • Performs related duties as assigned by the Resource Planning & Budget Office such as creating spreadsheets and proofreading documents
  • Assist with other administrative duties or special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

  • Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor
  • Responsible, punctual, and reliable
  • Possess strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Maintain level of confidentiality when accessing University data is critical
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and applications including Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Business background (Accounting, Finance, or Business majors preferred)

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.

Background Check

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
