About the Position: 

The Office of the Registrar serves students and the campus community by providing quality services that facilitate enrollment, retention, and degree completion while maintaining accurate academic records for the University. We are also responsible for processing transfer credit and maintaining articulation agreements with other institutions. Additionally, we register new and continuing students for classes, maintain academic records, prepare transcripts and diplomas, and review petitions for exception to University policy. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Senior Titan Degree Audit Administrative Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist-Exempt I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under the direction of the University Registrar’s designee, the Senior Titan Degree Audit (TDA) Administrative Analyst oversees the planning, development, implementation, testing, documentation, and maintenance of the degree audit system, which includes the Degree Audit, Planner, Scheduler, and Transfer Articulation Rule Table. The analyst reviews curriculum proposals within the college’s curriculum management tool to identify any potential issues related to academic policy, student progression, and system requirements. They independently interpret complex degree requirements, manage projects to encode newly approved programs, course changes, and degree requirements, and test and validate degree audits in the TDA using u.Achieve CollegeSource software. Additionally, they troubleshoot issues, respond to inquiries regarding degree audit functionality, and create and maintain course records, program requirements data, and condition codes.

The analyst also develops and implements the Degree Planner for all undergraduate students and collaborates with the IT ERP training team to create user manuals for the Office of the Registrar and end-users regarding the degree audit and academic planner. They apply a solid understanding of policies and regulations, demonstrating initiative in organizing and managing diverse tasks. Furthermore, the analyst supports training for faculty, advisors, and staff on TDA and related tools, communicates updates effectively, and participates in enhancement and automation projects related to TDA processes, including academic planning software.

In addition, the analyst supports system upgrades as assigned and assists in maintaining processes, forms, and user accounts. They handle individual degree audit adjustments, ensuring data integrity within the student information system, and provide excellent customer service through phone, email, and ServiceNow. This includes assisting students, parents, staff, faculty, and the broader community with inquiries about university policies and TDA procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus two years of related experience. Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.  Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.  

Preferred Qualifications

3-5 years of experience with degree audit tools such as DARwin, u.Achieve, Degree Works, etc., and 3-5 years of experience with university catalogs, including a solid understanding of curriculum and program requirements in college settings. Additionally, 1-3 years of experience as a transfer credit evaluator, graduation evaluator, or academic advisor is required. Familiarity with CSU Executive Orders and CSUF University Policy Statements is essential. The ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations is necessary. Candidates should participate in and contribute to group meetings, conferences, and interviews, and make oral presentations to express clear ideas. They must work effectively under pressure and complete assignments in a timely manner. Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with students, staff, faculty, and administrators at CSUF and other colleges and universities is important.

This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years.
