About the Position:
Within the Department of University Services, the Office of Events, Facilities Use, and Filming advocates for the ideal setting for any meeting, conference, banquet, reception or film shoot. The Office of Events and Facilities Use is home to a wide array of facilities and in-house support services; Cal State Fullerton is available for groups of all sizes. Events, Facilities, and Filming staff provides exceptional customer service and is dedicated to making any event a success. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Events, Facilities Use, and Filming Manager (Administrator I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
The Events, Facilities Use, and Filming Manager is responsible for leading the Events and Facilities Use Office, which manages the usage of campus state-run facilities by third parties. Provides guidance and managerial oversight for department functions and reporting team members. In this role, the Events, Facilities Use and Filming Manager is responsible for revenue generation through event and filming opportunities; works with film commissioner and potential clients to promote use of campus venues; reviews all requests and works with campus stakeholders to ensure ability to host activities. Ensures campus compliance with Special Event permits, serves as primary contact with California state Fire Marshal to ensure on-site compliance. Works with the Office of Risk Management and Contracts and Procurement to ensure insurance and contractual requirements are appropriately documented in Facility Use Agreements. Develops and maintains the campus Facilities Use Manual, including policies, fees, and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications
|
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited four-year college/university, or any combination of education and experience that provides the required skills and ability. Ten years of progressive event management experience. Ability to work effectively with campus stakeholders to execute large-scale events. Ability to communicate with off-campus clients on behalf of the University. Ability to manage projects, develop processes, and direct workflow. Excellent verbal and written communication are essential.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications
|
Event management experience at an institution of Higher Education. Experience coordinating Special Event Permits through the California State Fire Marshal.

License/Certifications
|
A valid California driver's license.
