Work Schedule
Monday - Friday 9:00am to 5:00 pm; 10-20 hours per week
Job Summary
The UA&SC student assistant will provide support to the unit and researchers, responsibilities include:
Provide coverage at the reading room desk
Retrieve and reshelve archival materials and books
Assist patrons with research requests
Digitize archival materials
Collaborate with the Archivist to organize and describe collections
Take on additional tasks as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
Skills:
Communicates effectively both orally and in writing
Courteous and tactful in dealing with the public
Highly motivated and works well in team environment
Proficient in the use of computers and current office software (MS Office, Adobe)
Responsible and pays close attention to detail, follows exact protocols
Can lift up to 20 lbs. and use stepladders to retrieve materials
Interest in history, literature, or libraries is a plus
Required Qualifications
Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
