Job Summary
The Academic Technology Center (ATC) of the Division of Information Technology is seeking highly motivated student assistants to assist in providing faculty support and services in the ATC, including assistance with reception, logistics, and other duties, as needed.
Under direct supervision, the student assistants to the ATC will be responsible for answering phones, greeting center guests, scanning, filing, copying, and other clerical duties, assistance with logistics, equipment check-out, processing email requests, as well as other duties and projects, as assigned by the director or coordinator of the ATC. Assisting with password changes and hardware and software configuration. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
Self-motivated, quick learner with excellent verbal / written communication and interpersonal skills, excellent phone skills, ability to work cooperatively with university staff and faculty, efficient and accurate data entry, working knowledge of MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, ability to work with minimal supervision, must be detail-oriented, punctual, and a self starter who can exercise independent judgment. Must be willing to learn new technologies and their application, Experience with a Learning Management System (Canvas). Familiarity with academic hardware and software.
Required Qualifications
Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
Background Check
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
