Job Summary

The CSUF Office of Alumni Engagement is seeking an Alumni Engagement Outreach Student Assistant to serve as the key individual for student alumni ambassador outreach, student outreach at events, alumni membership outreach, communication with members and membership fulfillment.

The Alumni Engagement Outreach Student Assistant is supervised by the Alumni Engagement Director, Business Development & Membership. Responsibilities are largely completed under the Director’s supervision. The qualified student will be enthusiastic, creative, detail oriented and have excellent communication skills. Excellent writing and time management skills are required for this position.

Responsibilities include assisting with the following:
• Maintaining the membership inbox, answering member questions and following up with members
• Minimal answering of front desk phone
• External outreach including tabling at Titan Walk, Discover Fest, Grad Fest, and more
• Fulfilling membership packs
• Inventory of membership materials
• Fulfillment of stewardship letters for the Alumni Scholarship Endowment
• Organizing of the Titan Alumni Business Directory
• Working with social media team to promote membership

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.

• Ability to learn new processes and programs quickly
• Flexibility and a positive attitude
• Excellent project coordinating skills to consistently meet deadlines
• Proficient with excel and mail merging
• Creative marketing skills
• Ability to work up to 18 total hours during the week, plus occasional evening and weekend assignments.
• Scheduling is flexible, to be arranged with supervisor

Background Check

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act Notification:
Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
