 HSS Student Assistant Success Center - Peer Mentor Summer 2025

Salary

 Classification not to exceed $16.50 - $24.00 per hour
 Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $16.50.

Work Schedule

 Available to work from June 3, 2025 – July 30, 2025. Up to 4 days per week (4-5 hours per day) – exact schedule to be provided during interview.

Job Summary

 This position provides an opportunity to assist with helping incoming first time first year and transfer students during the HSS Advising and Registration sessions held during New and Transfer Student Orientations.  Applicants should have an interest in academic advising and supporting student success.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the CSUF registration process. 
  • Knowledge of CSUF undergraduate General Education requirements.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, use independent judgment, and apply critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with students, faculty, staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at CSUF.
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Available to work from June 3, 2025 – July 30, 2025. Up to 4 days per week (4-5 hours per day) – exact schedule to be provided during interview.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
