Position Summary

The Department of Computer Science at CSUF invites applications for its Student Assistant position. The department is seeking a reliable and organized student assistant to support the front office. This role is ideal for students who are detail-oriented, enjoy helping others, and want to gain valuable experience in a professional academic environment. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work
  • Greet and assist students, faculty, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Answer phones, respond to emails, and provide general department information
  • Assist with filing, data entry, photocopying, and scanning documents
  • Maintain office organization and inventory of supplies
  • Handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion
  • Perform other clerical tasks as assigned by department staff or faculty
Minimum Qualifications

 

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position. Must be able to hold confidentiality to a higher standard.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student
  • In good academic standing and obtains at least a 2.5 or higher
  • Eligible to work in the United States and can provide eligibility documents

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
