POSITION

The Office of Engagement and Belonging at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Graduate Assistant Pool.

The Office of Engagement and Belonging (OEB) Graduate Assistant will work under the general direction of the Director of OEB to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and initiatives that promote professional development, diversity, inclusion, and equity within the university community. The graduate assistant will assist and support education and training programs, as well as research and assessment activities related to diversity, inclusion, and equity. This is a part-time, graduate-level assistantship opportunity. Graduate assistants will be able to explore program development, facilitation skills development, and adult learning and development. Experience in this position will intersect with the MSHE learning domains of social justice, personal and professional development, education, and assessment and evaluation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of learning and development programs and initiatives that promote inclusion and belonging.
  • Co-facilitate workshops and trainings for OEB programs and certificates.
  • Assist in the research and assessment of engagement and belonging initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials related to engagement and belonging.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the department's marketing, website, and social media presence
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of OEB

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must be a currently enrolled graduate student in good academic standing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of and experience with issues related to diversity, inclusion, and equity
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and online-meeting technology
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in program development and implementation
  • Must be available to work 20 hours per week

COMPENSATION

All Graduate Assistant appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers. Initial appointments are for one semester only.

Classification Range: $3,245 to $6,072 per month
Anticipated hiring range not to exceed $4,000 per month

The full-time monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the time base assigned.

The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment.

This offer maybe contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check and may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or if information was knowingly withheld or falsified.

Please note, that continued employment maybe contingent upon your successful completion of a background screening as required under CSU policy. Graduate Assistant at CSUF after a break in service of 12 or more months who have not had a CSUF background check within the past 12 months maybe subject to a new background check; rehire maybe contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the new background check

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
