Instructional Student Assistant Pool

POSITION

The Department of Finance at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Instructional Student Assistant Pool.

We welcome applications from currently enrolled CSUF students for a position within the Department of Finance that may fall under one of the following categories:  

Responsibilities include answering emails, preparing reports, updating the department website, and maintaining faculty and students’ records and documents. The Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) will assist Finance Department faculty members by proctoring 120+ cap exams, grading exams, and providing research assistance and technical support. ISAs may also assist with enrollment tracking and may be required to independently and collaboratively create flyers and video for marketing and branding of the Finance Department. Other duties and tasks as assigned.

This is a pool of Instructional Student Assistant for the department to draw on as necessary.

APPOINTMENTS FROM THE POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MAY BE OFFERED EMPLOYMENT ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.

REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing within the Department of Finance (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels and read/write English at a level appropriate to the position
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Software, and any other software/technology appropriate for the position
  • Detail oriented with a strong ability to work independently

COMPENSATION

All Instructional Student Assistant appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers.  Initial appointments are for one semester only.

Classification Range: $17.86 - $23.84 per hour
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualification, not to exceed $20.00

MANDATED REPORTER PER CANRA

The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment.

This offer maybe contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check and may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or if information was knowingly withheld or falsified

Please note, that continued employment is contingent upon your successful completion of a background screening as required under CSU policy. Instructional Student Assistants are rehired at CSUF after a break in service of 12 or more months who have not had a CSUF background check within the past 12 months will be subject to a new background check; rehire is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the new background check.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
