Job Summary
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders focuses on providing specialized education and training in speech, language, and hearing sciences. The department offers programs that prepare students for careers in speech-language pathology and audiology, equipping them with the skills to diagnose and treat communication disorders.
The Communication Science and Disorders Department Office Student Assistant plays a critical role in the function of the department. Under direct supervision, the office student assistants perform duties ranging from unskilled to skilled and/or specialized, in a variety of positions that typically require the use of manual, clerical, public contact, and/or analytical skill. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Assist staff by providing front desk support, including responding to inquiries from students/faculty/alumni, answering phones, responding to voicemails, creating fliers, and email requests. • Assist with event support such as creating flyers, emails, blasts, social media postings, event set-up, and execution. • Deliver mail to various campus locations • Scan, copy, and archive documents for faculty and staff • Assist with tracking office supplies • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
Required Qualifications
Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
Federal Work Study is a Must!
