Salary

Classification Range $16.50-$24.00 per hour

Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $18.50

Flexible within M-F, 8 AM-5 PM. Up to 20 hours per week.

Job Summary

The Center for Internships & Community Engagement (CICE) creates linkages between higher education, community organizations and professional offices and strives to create high quality community-based experiences that are beneficial to all involved. CICE is committed to pursuing the university's mission to create "experiences in and out of the classroom, [so that] students develop the habit of intellectual inquiry, prepare for challenging professions, strengthen relationships to their communities and contribute productively to society."

The Titans Program provides after-school programming for over 700 children, grades 3rd through 12th. The Program staff provides developmentally appropriate programs that focus on the process of learning while also helping students enjoy many other enriching experiences. We encourage not just learning, but also the love of learning.

Under direct supervision, the student will:

  • Maintain Program files.
  • Work with other student assistants.
  • Assist in data entry of attendance files.
  • Maintain routine communications with Titans Program staff.
  • Assist in answering and placing phone calls on a daily basis to communicate on the program participants' behalf.
  • Participates in the development and presentation of training and orientations

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; familiarity with Microsoft Office programs; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF that is Federal Work-Study eligible.
  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.

Preferred Qualifications

 

• Able to work at least two days a week for minimum of fifteen hours per week.

• Possess maturity, respect for youth, ability to listen with patience and an open mind.

• Knowledge of English grammar, basic reading and math skills.

  • Must be dependable and committed

Background Check

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act Notification:
Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
