About the Position: 

The Division of Administration and Finance serves as the backbone of the CSUF campus, managing a wide array of operations from maintaining and enhancing university buildings and grounds to providing important business support services. Campus beautification, classroom improvements, and technological advancements, continue to be a priority as we enhance the learning environment and facilities. It is the mission of the Division to provide customer-focused administrative support and steward our physical and financial resources to fulfill the university’s mission and support student success. Partnership with our diverse campus community and its many stakeholders are important in helping our operations provide excellent customer service and results. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Financial Services Coordinator (Administrative Support Coordinator II). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity.

Under general direction, the Financial Services Coordinator is responsible for performing a broad range of program coordination, technical, operational, analytical, and customer service functions with an emphasis on the coordination, evaluation and analysis of financial transactions reconciliation packages and follow-up, and application of relevant policies and procedures. Provides essential operational and technical support to department management and staff within Contracts and Procurement, e-Business, Accounts Payable and Travel Operations in addition to providing excellent customer service to Academic Affairs colleges, division departments, and campus community. Coordinates scheduled activities, projects and reports using a variety of technology and systems, including an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Financial System (Concur and PeopleSoft). Duties include analytical and technical responsibilities in the processing of financial transactions. Requires handling multiple work priorities utilizing independent, sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive situations that are of limited to moderate complexity in nature and making recommendations of resolution. Communicates, interprets, and applies federal, state, CSU and CSUF policies, regulations, procedures, and compliance to successfully perform the job, and address general inquiries. The output of work is accountability, consistency, and ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment. Provides support to CSUF departments, employees, and vendors to address and problem-solve open issues.

As a member of the Financial Services Team, supports efforts in promoting an inclusive environment of teamwork and will contribute towards goals related to department operations, programs, and services. The Financial Services Coordinator should work well in a team environment and understand the balance of sharing duties, taking ownership, and taking the initiative to complete tasks as needed. Represents the team by establishing and maintaining good working relationships with individuals throughout the campus community, and by providing exemplary customer service while working under multiple demands and time constraints to support the needs of the campus community. Essential Qualifications

High School diploma or the equivalent and five years of progressively responsible experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Thorough mastery of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Expertise in using office software packages, technology, and systems. Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects. Ability to independently interpret and apply policies and procedures and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist. Ability to troubleshoot most office administration problems and respond to all inquiries and requests related to work area. Ability to understand problems from a broad perspective and anticipate the impact of office administration problems and solutions on other areas. Ability to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions. Ability to perform business math, analyze budgetary data, and make accurate projections requiring some inference. Ability to effectively write and present own reports. Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels including highly sensitive interpersonal situations. Ability to use negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve results and expedite projects.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.  

Preferred Qualifications

The candidate should have the technical ability to effectively use an integrated ERP finance system such as PeopleSoft or SAP Concur, with familiarity in the PeopleSoft finance module and data warehouse queries. Demonstrate proficiency in using Internet/Intranet resources and business software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Previous experience working in an accounts payable department is required.

This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus.
