Classification Range $16.50 - $24.00 per hour
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $16.50 - $17.00.

Job Summary

The Division for University Advancement is seeking a student to provide support for the Vice President’s Office under the supervision of the Director of Special Projects and Initiatives and Administrative Support Coordinator.  Under supervision, the Student Assistant will provide office staff support in the following ways:

  1. Office Management & Clerical: Provide front desk support (reception, phones, scheduling), organize supplies, and maintain Xerox machines; conduct mail delivery, copying, and additional support as needed. Assist in processing incoming documents.
  2. Communications: Coordinate information, meeting schedules, and other details as directed in support of communication and marketing efforts (web, email, pamphlets, reports, etc.). Edit and format content using Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
  3. Data Entry & Analysis: Input or clean data, edit PowerPoint presentations using charts, graphs, etc.
  4. Survey Support: Assist with surveys to the CSFPF and Division for University Advancement using Cognito and Qualtrics. 
  5. Other Project Support: Assist in various aspects of the design, planning, and implementation phases of projects for the VP’s Office.
  6. Event Support: Coordinate logistics for meeting and event needs and provide on-site support to staff.

 Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Self-starter and highly motivated to learn
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to coordinate multiple projects
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Positive customer service attitude
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision at times
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • student will need to have a valid license to drive electric vehicles on campus to and from events

Background Check

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act Notification:
Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
