Job Summary
This is a Federal Work Study position, and students must have Federal Work Study (FWS) eligibility to apply. The Anthropology student assistant with previous experience will support the Anthropology U-ACRE at the campus garden and via computer, performing supporting coding data. Throughout the semester, the student assistant will collaborate closely with the department faculty.
The student Assistant of the CSUF Campus Garden will maintain weekly contact with Dr. Sara Johnson and other faculty members involved in the campus garden. The student assistant will focus on working at the campus garden alongside participating students.
Student assistants will also have the opportunity to work on a multidisciplinary project in the Chobe Region of Botswana. The student assistant will assist staff with coding survey data and meet weekly to discuss and resolve any questions related to the coding process.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
Required Qualifications
Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
