Salary

Classification Range $16.50 - $24.00 per hour
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $17.00.

Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., maximum of 20 hours per week, some flexibility in weekly workdays

Job Summary

The Online B.A. in Business Administration (Online Business) program team is looking for a mature responsible, and proactive Student Assistant who can contribute positively to delivering thorough and empathetic support to Online Business students. The position is supervised by the Assistant Director, Online Undergraduate Programs and Initiatives, College of Business and Economics.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, the Student Assistant will:

  • help with responding to prospective student inquiries using templates and guidelines, conducting outreach to applicants missing admission documentation, organizing the Online Business program email inbox, and maintaining various tracking spreadsheets;
  • help to organize, maintain, and archive a variety of electronic program files;
  • assist in the maintenance of online training modules for students and staff;
  • assist in the coordination and delivery of Online Business events and activities, including but not limited to annual graduation reception;
  • use a variety of tech tools and systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Zoom, Teams, Google Workspace, Dropbox, and OneDrive;
  • assist with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work accurately and within assigned deadlines; follow oral and written instructions consistently; work professionally and collaboratively with Online Business and CBE Dean’s Office teammates at all levels, colleagues in partner offices, students, and faculty.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; keen research and discovery skills.
  • Ensure depth of knowledge about relevant CSUF, CBE, Online BABA, and University Extension policies/processes sufficient to provide accurate and timely responses to questions and referrals to partner offices.
  • Current student at CSUF enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
  • Maintain a minimum CSUF term and cumulative GPA of 2.3.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience taking college-level online courses and participating in online communities.
  • Demonstration of exceptional service instincts including but not limited to email, phone, and Zoom etiquette, customer service skills, follow through to thorough completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English at a level appropriate to ensure delivery of clear instructions and clear interpretation of policy/process to others relative to position duties.
  • Strong self-management skills; ability to honor work schedule, project deadlines, and other commitments, successfully balance competing priorities, proactively communicate changes to schedule and project status; anticipate, identify, and/or communicate issues to supervisor, and to independently problem-solve at a level appropriate for position; ability to show accountability for work performance and accept professional coaching feedback.
  • Possess strong skills in organization and attention to detail; experience in project and event planning and execution.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
