Instructional Student Assistant- Grader Pool

POSITION

The Department of Religious Studies at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Instructional Student Assistant – Grader Pool. Not all applicants will be hired. Successful applicants will be employed as ISAs working to help grade assignments for specific courses. This is a part-time position, not to exceed 20 hours a week.

We welcome applications from current CSUF undergraduate or graduate students. Preference will be given to Religious Studies majors, minors, and students with majors and minors in the humanities and social sciences.

This is a pool of Instructional Student Assistant for the department to draw on as necessary.

APPOINTMENTS FROM THE POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MAY BE OFFERED EMPLOYMENT ON VERY SHORT NOTICE. 

JOB SUMMARY

• Under the supervision of an instructor, ISA will be responsible for grading (answer keys and rubrics provided when appropriate).
• ISA will also input grades into gradebook.
• ISAs will be scheduled for no more than 20 hours of work per week. All work may be completed online.

REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a currently enrolled student in good standing at CSUF.
• Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to relate well to others within an academic environment, a willingness to learn, and the ability to assist students in the writing process.
• Exceptions to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the University.

COMPENSATION

All Instructional Student Assistant appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers.  Initial appointments are for one semester only.

Classification Range: $17.86 - $23.84 per hour
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualification, not to exceed $23.84 per hour

MANDATED REPORTER PER CANRA

The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CLEARANCE NOTICE

This offer maybe contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check and may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or if information was knowingly withheld or falsified

Please note, that continued employment maybe contingent upon your successful completion of a background screening as required under CSU policy. Instructional Student Assistants are rehired at CSUF after a break in service of 12 or more months who have not had a CSUF background check within the past 12 months maybe subject to a new background check; rehire is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the new background check.
