Department of Disability Support Services Graduate Assistant Pool
POSITION
The Department of Disability Support Services at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Graduate Assistant Pool.
We welcome applications from current CSUF graduate students in the Disability Support Services department to support in the following areas:
DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) Services Support
Prepare and organize course materials
Communicate with students, faculty, and service providers regarding scheduling and logistics
Track and document DHH service usage and related data
Accessible Furniture Services Support
Assist with service request and maintain accurate records
Collaborate with facilities to arrange furniture deliveries, setup, and retrieval
Assist with responding to student and faculty inquiries related to accessible furniture
Outreach & Campus Engagement
Support DSS Outreach Specialist with tabling events, workshops, and presentations
Assist with the distribution of informational materials related to DSS
Help maintain DSS social media presence (as applicable)
Proctoring & Testing Services
Assist with the proctoring/administration of accommodated exams
Prepare and organize testing materials, assisting with intake and return
Monitor testing schedules
Assistive Technology Services Support
Assist in maintaining inventory of assistive technology equipment
Support Assistive Technology Coordinator with training sessions/appointments for students using approved assistive tools
This is a pool of Graduate Assistants for the department to draw on as necessary.
APPOINTMENTS FROM THE POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MAY BE OFFERED EMPLOYMENT ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate must be a currently enrolled graduate student at CSUF
Must be in good academic standing
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Student with Federal Work Study Award
Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and/or projects
Familiarity with accessibility and disability services

COMPENSATION
All Graduate Assistant appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers. Initial appointments are for one semester only.
Classification Range: $3,408 to $6,072 per month Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $3,408
The full-time monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the time base assigned.

The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment.

This offer is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check and may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or if information was knowingly withheld or falsified.
Please note, that continued employment is contingent upon your successful completion of a background screening as required under CSU policy. Graduate Assistants rehired at CSUF after a break in service of 12 or more months who have not had a CSUF background check within the past 12 months will be subject to a new background check; rehire is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the new background check.

The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
