Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., maximum of 20 hours per week, some flexibility in weekly workdays

Job Summary

The Online B.A. in Business Administration (Online Business) program team is looking for a mature responsible, and highly collaborative Student Data Assistant who can contribute positively to the department. The Student  Assistant will play a critical role in supporting data-driven decision-making and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the Online Business program. The position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in organizing, and presenting online student-related data. It is an excellent fit for individuals interested in the intersection of data analytics and online learner success. The position is supervised by the Assistant Director, Online Undergraduate Programs and Initiatives, College of Business and Economics. This is an on-site position.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, the Student Data Assistant will:

  • help to input, update, and verify the accuracy of prospective and continuing student information in databases and Excel spreadsheets;
  • generate weekly, monthly, and other reports for review by the Assistant Director 
  • help to organize, maintain, and archive a variety of electronic program files;
  • use a variety of tech tools and systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office (specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Zoom, Teams, Dropbox, and OneDrive;
  • as class schedule permits, attend regularly scheduled Online Business program and operations team meetings;
  • assist with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to provide employment eligibility documents.
  • Currently enrolled/registered (fees paid) CSUF undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as data science, statistics, computer science, or other related discipline.
  • Must be in and maintain Good Academic Standing with minimum CSUF term and cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Familiarity with data visualization techniques and tools.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organization and time-management skills; ability to successfully balance and prioritize competing priorities and to meet deadlines set by Assistant Director;
  • Strong proactive verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate clearly and concisely.
  • Professionally mature self-starter and team player; strong interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with Online Business and CBE Dean’s Office teammates at all levels and colleagues in partner offices.
  • Ability to adapt and show initiative in response to changing ideas or expectations.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
