Department

Cal State Fullerton’s (CSUF) University Extension within the Division of Academic Affairs collaborates with university departments and colleges on unique programs for students from the community and around the world. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our University Extension Program Administration team as the Associate Director, Degree and Postbaccalaureate Programs (Administrator I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the University Extension (UE) Executive Director, the Associate Director of Degree and Postbaccalaureate Programs provides leadership and direction for all CSUF self-support degree and postbaccalaureate (DPP) programs. These responsibilities include program management and administration, budget and fiscal operations, marketing, student outreach and recruitment, enrollment management, program development and revision, and management of staff and unit operations. The Associate Director is a member of the UE leadership team and is responsible for implementing a strong strategic vision, identifying, and pursuing growth opportunities, and ensuring program academic and fiscal success. The Associate Director will build and nurture strong partnerships with academic departments and colleges as well as with other campus units. Make recommendations regarding strategic planning along with developing and implementing new programs. In this role, the Associate Director will lead and reinforce a positive and collaborative environment with focus on the student experience, operational efficiency, fiscal sustainability, program growth and development, and academic partner relations. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and at least five years of successful experience managing academic programs in a self-support environment required. Strong operational background. Demonstrated successful experience in financial/budget analysis and management. Must have a substantial understanding of financial management in a self-support environment. Excellent critical thinking skills including problem solving, decision making and conceptualizing. Demonstrated successful experience in project management. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity, change and adapt appropriately to a broad range of situations. Skilled in building alliances, partnering, and working as a positive, motivating force for collaboration and achievement within an organization. Demonstrated success in leading teams and in the management and supervision of people. PeopleSoft, Salesforce, and SharePoint experience strongly preferred.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.  

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of CSUF infrastructure, policies, and procedures is desirable. PeopleSoft, Salesforce, and SharePoint experience strongly preferred.

The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/.
