Job Summary

The Undeclared & Academic Advising Center (UAAC) is hiring for the role of Peer Partner to work as a Front Desk Student Assistant to support the Advising staff of the Undeclared & Academic Advising Center. The Peer Partner will be responsible for being the first point of contact for all guests contacting UAAC for information, as well as providing logistical support in activities related to the operations of the office. Duties may include the following:
 
• Staff the front reception desk and maintain an organized and inviting welcome space.
•Answer incoming phone calls and provide directions to appropriate resources or staff as required.
•Check students in for appointments and drop-in hours in-person and online.
•Assist staff with events, operations, and communications.
•Provide support to UAAC Advisors and Advising Leadership to direct and guide students to appropriate resources.
•Other duties as assigned.
 
 

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic notice, continued notice, academic disqualification).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with office programs (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, Adobe).

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
