Classification Range $16.90 - $24.00 per hour Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $17 per hour.

Work Schedule
Must be able to work a minimum of a 4-hour shift between the hours of 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM, may include some weekends.
Up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Schedule may vary depending on operational needs, including campus breaks or closures. (e.g., Spring Break, Summer Session, Winter Session, Commencement).
Job Summary
The Parking Event Student Assistant provides essential support for the planning and execution of campus parking and transportation services for university events. Working under the supervision of the Event Services Analyst, the student assistants help with logistical operations, including signage setup, equipment handling, and event documentation. This is a student role ideal for individuals seeking experience in event coordination, customer service, and campus operations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the setup, placement, and removal of parking equipment belonging to the P&TS Dept.
Support the organization and inventory management of equipment.
Clean parking equipment using available wash stations.
Help update and maintain event-related documentation in tools such as Smartsheet and Microsoft Teams as directed.
Provide general event support, including assisting with on-site directions, customer inquiries, and reporting any logistical issues to the Event Services Analyst.
Follow detailed instructions to ensure smooth traffic control and parking support operations during events.
Maintain cleanliness, order, and readiness of event equipment storage areas.
Uphold professionalism while interacting with campus guests, staff, and other departments.
Attend regular check-ins or training sessions to stay updated on event procedures and safety protocols.
Ability to communicate verbally over the phone with customers and fellow staff regarding event updates or instructions.
Maintain an understanding of current CSUF Parking Enforcement rules and guidelines.
Maintain knowledge of the whereabouts of each structure, lot, or parking facility within the CSUF campus.
Ability to use graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
Required Qualifications
Valid California driver's license (Class C minimum)
Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
Ability to observe situations and determine an appropriate course of action.
Ability to act in an appropriate manner with sensitive and confidential information/situations.
Customer service experience preferred.
California Driver's License - Class C (At least 6-months of active driving record)
Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
Must be able to work in dusty conditions.
Must be able to push, pull, or lift traffic equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time with limited ability to sit.
Must be able to walk for extended periods of time.
Regular attendance is considered an essential job function; the inability to meet attendance requirements may preclude the employee from retaining employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in customer service, events, or logistics (on or off campus).
Familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)
Familiarity with Smartsheet.
Ability to provide Information Services, which includes assisting the campus community by providing directions and parking information and reporting incidents/concerns/suspicious persons to University Police.
Ability to work with large data sets.
Ability to work independently and complete tasks with little direction
