Job Summary 

The Cinema and Television Arts Department (CTVA) is a small academic program concentrating in Critical Studies, Management of TV programming, production and screenwriting for Movies and TV. The department mission is to prepare students for careers as ethical professionals in the cinema and tv arts fields through robust curricular and co-curricular activities, a highly-qualified and diverse faculty and staff and strong links to the entertainment industry.

 

We're looking for someone who can make exercise sound judgment, make decisions using discretion and help organize within the department. The ideal candidate should be able to interact successfully with diverse groups of students, instructors, and staff and have Mac computer usage experience. Assist faculty and staff with IT related issues.

Work with the staff and faculty, answering questions about the CTVA program via phone, email and in-person. Answer phones, light typing, file, photocopy, scan, sort mail, campus deliveries, and assist with
special events as needed. Assist faculty and staff with IT related issues. Assist with preparation and
review of tracking of equipment, and scheduling of rooms. Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

  • Junior or Senior class level student
  • Customer service experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally with students, staff, and faculty;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with ongoing interruptions
  • Ability to use independent judgment, critical thinking skills and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.

  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.

  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).

  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
