Under the general supervision of the Director of Special Projects and Student Development and the Student Conduct Administrative Analyst, the Student Assistant provides administrative and customer service support to the Dean of Students Office and Student Conduct. This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming environment for students, families, faculty, staff, and campus visitors while supporting the day-to-day operations of the office.
Student Assistant will assist staff with the following responsibilities:
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting visitors at the front desk, responding to general inquiries, answering and directing multi-line telephone calls, taking messages, and connecting guests with appropriate staff and campus resources.
• Support front office operations by distributing mail, packages, and office materials to campus partners and assisting with general administrative tasks.
• Maintain office inventory by monitoring, stocking, and organizing office supplies, outreach materials, kitchen items, and other operational resources.
• Assist with maintaining clean, organized, and professional common spaces, including the reception area, workroom, conference spaces, and kitchen.
• Provide clerical and administrative support for special projects, departmental initiatives, and campus events
. • Assist with outreach and marketing efforts by participating in tabling events, preparing informational materials, organizing promotional items, and, when appropriate, designing flyers or other communications for students.
• Complete training across multiple functional areas within the Dean of Students Office, including Student Conduct and Student Affairs and Strategic Enrollment Management, to develop a broad understanding of departmental services and referral processes.
• Serve as a knowledgeable first point of contact by providing general information, answering routine questions, and directing students and visitors to appropriate campus resources.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
