Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. Must be available to work some nights and weekends (as needed for events).

Job Summary

The Data & Event Student Assistant will assist staff with the following:
• Update alumni records in the university database and CRM; ensure accuracy and consistency. work by staff will be reviewed and checked for accuracy. 
• Provide on-site event support for major alumni events (set-up, check-in/registration, guest assistance, troubleshooting, and breakdown as assigned).
• Assist with maintaining detailed registration, attendance, and tracking reports for alumni events/activities/programs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Follow all departmental and university safety procedures.
• Participate in departmental/interdepartmental trainings and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Must be a currently enrolled CSUF student (new or continuing) during the semester of employment.
• This position is Student Assistant (Non-FWS); Federal Work-Study is not required.

Experience
• One (1) year of business office experience required.

Required Qualifications

• Microsoft Office experience in Word and Excel (required)
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of AI and how to use it safely and ethically
• Professional phone etiquette; pleasant voice and demeanor.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Ability to work effectively with coworkers and customers in a constructive, positive manner.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Demonstrated professionalism and teamwork, including respectful communication and support of a diverse workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

• Simple reading and writing; memorization; judgment/decision-making; perception and comprehension.

Background Check

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act Notification:
Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR) is also available for viewing. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
