Job Summary

Under the direction of the Athletic Equipment Manager, the successful candidate(s) for this position will provide assistance to the Equipment Room of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, while learning key functions of the position’s related duties. This is a unique space where student athletes are supported behind the scenes by both coaches and full-time staff through clerical work.
• Assist in maintaining clean and orderly work and storage areas.
• Issue towels, uniforms, & practice gear as directed and per department procedure.
• Assist with the receiving and distribution of departmental deliveries
• Assists with the inventory of equipment and apparel as directed.
• Assist with game set-up as needed.
• Maintain written and electronic records.
Minimum Qualifications Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
  • Basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet browsers/ e-mail programs. Ability to learn additional associated programs necessary to Athletics Equipment.
    • Willingness to learn basic facility maintenance, custodial, & laundry procedures.
    • Must be able to lift 35-50 pounds and adjust to working in various weather conditions (i.e. heat, cold, rain, wind). Periods of time with extended standing may occur.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication/ customer service skills
    • Skill in understanding and following oral and written instructions.
    • Positive attitude and teamwork to accomplish goals.
    • Strong attention to detail and strict adherence to rules.
    • Ability to learn and follow Cal State Fullerton, Big West, and NCAA rules.

Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act Notification:
Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR) is also available for viewing. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
