Lead ARC Peer Coach (Instructional Student Assistant) San Marcos
The Office of First-Year & University Programs is seeking a Lead ARC Peer Coach to provide advanced academic support to students enrolled in ARC-supported courses while offering peer leadership and coordination for the Peer Coach team. In addition to serving as an embedded Peer Coach in the classroom, the Lead Peer Coach supports onboarding, mentorship, training assistance, and communication among Peer Coaches in collaboration with professional staff. This position is designed for experienced, returning Peer Coaches who have demonstrated strong leadership, professionalism, and commitment to student success. The Lead Peer Coach plays a key role in ensuring consistency of support, timely intervention for students on Academic Notice, and continuity of the ARC Peer Coaching model. ARC Peer Coach (Instructional Student Assistant) San Marcos
The Office of First-Year & University Programs is seeking returning students to serve as Peer Coaches for UNIV Academic Recovery courses. Peer Coaches provide academic and holistic support to students by assisting in the classroom, mentoring peers, and completing outreach to support student success. Peer Coaches attend weekly class sessions, facilitate small‐group activities, meet individually with students, and collaborate closely with UNIV instructors and program staff. This role offers meaningful leadership experience, professional development training, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on student retention and success. Eligibility Requirements: Must be a currently admitted CSU student in good academic standing Must have earned a B or higher in a UNIV Academic Recovery course Must be enrolled at least part-time Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability required Position Details: Academic Student Employee (Unit 11) Training provided prior to and during the semester This position is open to returning Peer Coaches or qualified continuing students interested in supporting fellow students and developing leadership skills within an instructional setting.
