The course explores decolonization of media and narrative forms, with a focus on film, television, and writing within American Indian and Indigenous contexts. Engages with and analyzes how Native American and Indigenous filmmakers reclaim and reshape their narratives through visual sovereignty. Aims to dismantle colonial viewpoints and promote an understanding of Indigenous self-determination and representation in media through a variety of filmic genres and media platforms. |
