The College of Business Administration (CoBA) at California State University, San Marcos (CSUSM) seeks a full-time tenure-track faculty member to join its Finance Department. The successful candidate should possess expertise in investment, corporate finance, and/or banking, at the assistant professor rank. The anticipated start date for the position is Fall 2026. This position is contingent upon funding.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Finance from an AACSB-accredited institution by the time of appointment. ABD applicants will be considered, provided the Ph.D. is conferred by the hire date. Applicants with a Ph.D. in Economics may also be considered if their teaching and research specialization is in FinTech or closely related financial applications
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels
- Evidence of active engagement in scholarly research leading to publications in reputable academic journals in Finance/Economics
Preferred Qualifications
- Scholarly expertise in areas such as FinTech, Al applications in Finance, modern asset pricing, investments, or financial markets and institutions
- Relevant professional or industry experience in finance, particularly in support of finance lab activities or experiential learning initiatives
- Possession of professional certifications such as the CFA, CPA or comparable credentials
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with, and provide support to, diverse student populations
- Evidence of intercultural competence and engagement with diverse groups through teaching, research, and/or service
- Demonstrated commitment to serving both the university community and the broader business community

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $12,000 - $12,594 per month
CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,221- $13,224 per month
