About the Program: 

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology and Mechatronics Engineering and provides students with a background in the fundamentals of engineering, computer hardware and software. Program faculty specialize in areas of algorithms, artificial intelligence, security, databases, mechatronics and robotics. 

About the Position: 

The Computer Science & Engineering Department at CSU Channel Islands has openings for lecturer positions to teach graduate courses in Computer Science. Examples of course offerings include, but are not limited to, Mulit-Agent Systems, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Mining.

Minimum Degree Requirements:

Masters of Computer Science and 3 years of industry experience or Ph. D. in Computer Science

Required Qualifications:

  • Applicants should have a M.S. in Computer Science (or related discipline) from an accredited institution
  • Applicants should demonstrate the ability to effectively engage with a broad student population and provide mentorship that supports student academic success.
  • Applicants should demonstrate their commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how they would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D in Computer Science (or related discipline) from an accredited institution
  • 3+ years of teaching experience within a college or industry setting
  • 3+ years of industry experience in the engineering field
 
Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities are to teach graduate courses in Computer Science and advise students within the classroom setting.

Placement into a range is based on qualifications and experience. Initial assignments are typically at the bottom third of the salary range.
