Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of the Career Development Center and lead by the Assistant Director of Employer Engagement the Employer Recruitment and Program Coordinator will act in a lead role in coordinating, planning and executing a variety of activities and events that engage students with the employment community. Build partnerships between the university and external communities (business, the public sector and not-for-profit entities) emphasizing development and marketing to expand part-time, career and internship employment opportunities for students. In consultation with employers coordinate and expand recruitment job listings, and events available to students in CareerLINK. Provide advising and coaching to students and alumni in all aspects of career exploration, decision-making and job search.
Furthermore, this position is responsible for providing services that are equitable, inclusive and provide culturally sensitive services that enhance the quality of campus life, retention, and graduation rate. This position uses a student centered and equity minded approach in all communication and service efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, plan and execute Employer recruitment presentations and events - Coordinate, plan, develop and implement all administrative policies and procedures necessary for the implementation of program goals, objectives and action plans for employer recruitment events and activities. Identify and recruit prospective employers to the Career Development Center to network, interview and hire CSULB students.
- Employer and Job Development - Establish and build relationships with a wide range of employers, including local, regional, national and international employers; maintain regular communication with targeted employers, including alumni employers, via direct contact, email blasts, alumni web pages, and print publications.
- Coordinate and review CareerLINK job/event postings - Coordinate the job/internship posting process; ensure the job postings meet Career Development Center, state, and federal guidelines and that the system is fully maximized by students, employers, the Career Services staff, and the campus community. Contact employers by telephone, and in-person visits to encourage their recruitment of CSULB students for part-time, full-time, internships, and career positions, as well as their participation in career services offered by the Career Development Center.
- Coordinate Student Professional Development Event Calendar - Coordinate with Career Education & Counseling Team and Employer Engagement Team to create a student professional development event calendar for each semester. Lead internal communication to coordinate the planning of events to ensure reflective of student needs, and interests and collaborations with on and off campus partners.
- Career Advising & Drop In Services - Responsible for career advising and employment assistance to those students and alumni interested in specific professional careers. Individually or in groups, advises students and alumni in order to assist in identifying skills, values, and goals related to career interests. Counsels with students who are attempting to undergo various career transitions.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
- Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $5,540 - $6,000 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
- CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $5,540 - $7,893 per month.

The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of employment trends, career development, job search strategies, and career services systems, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. They demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, develop effective programs and marketing initiatives, and build collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, alumni, and external partners. They are detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team while maintaining high professional and ethical standards when handling confidential information.
Additionally, the ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with proven experience in project management, marketing, and relationship building. They have strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and edit professional materials, promote programs effectively, and influence stakeholders. They are resourceful, customer-focused, and able to balance competing deadlines while supporting institutional goals. The candidate is also committed to safe work practices, dependable attendance, and maintaining the flexibility needed to support events, programs, and operational needs, including occasional evening or weekend work.

Education and Experience
• Equivalent to a bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (preferably in human/social services/behavioral sciences or related field) and three years professional experience in student service program, human resources or related field required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in developing and facilitating workshops; making presentations; and exhibiting excellent oral and written communication skills.
Licenses / Certificates
• Valid CA Driver License required.
Employees who are required to operate motorized vehicles and/or use their personal vehicle more than once a month on University business are required to take a mandatory Defensive Driving course and enroll in the DMV Employee Pull Notice (EPN) Program.
