The anticipated hiring range for this position is $5,274 (step 1) - $5,380 (step 2) per month.
The final salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Executive Director for University Housing, the University Housing Fiscal Analyst provides professional financial, analytical, and limited administrative support in the management of University Housing. The position supports the department’s fiscal and business objectives through budget administration, financial analysis, reporting, forecasting support, occupancy and revenue analysis, and the preparation of reports and recommendations that support management decision making. The incumbent monitors financial performance, ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial and occupancy data, coordinates information across functional and collaborates with Housing leadership and campus partners to promote sound fiscal management, effective planning, and continuous business process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor University Housing budgets by tracking actual revenues and expenses against approved budget allocations.

- Perform regular variance analysis to identify and clearly communicate differences between projected and actual financial performance and recommend appropriate follow-up.
- Identify and communicate budgetary trends, operational risks, and areas of concern, including over-expenditures or underutilized funds, to support timely management decision-making.
- Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and analyses for the Executive Director and leadership team to support operational and fiscal decision making.
- Ensure integrity and reliability of financial data through routine audits, reconciliation, and validation processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, higher education administration, public administration, or a related field
Experience: Three (3) or more years of progressively responsible work experience involving finance and/or accounting systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of:
• Budget administration, financial analysis, fiscal management principles, and operational analysis techniques.
• Standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to financial and administrative analysis.
• Applicable university policies, procedures, administrative systems, and financial regulations related to budget administration and financial reporting.
• Microsoft Excel and other business software applications used for financial analysis, reporting, data management, and record keeping.
• Research methods and analytical techniques used to collect, evaluate, interpret, and present financial and operational information.
Ability to:
• Analyze financial, occupancy, and operational data to identify trends, discrepancies, and business impacts, and develop sound conclusions and recommendations.
• Interpret financial information and communicate complex data clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.
• Investigate, analyze, and proactively resolve problems with broad administrative implications using sound judgment and analytical reasoning.
• Collect, evaluate, and interpret data to support budget planning, forecasting, financial reporting, and business process improvements.
• Plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple projects and assignments while meeting established deadlines.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with campus departments and stakeholders while collaborating across functional areas.
• Exercise discretion and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive financial information.
• Learn, interpret, and apply university policies, procedures, and applicable regulations related to financial and administrative operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting budgeting, financial reporting, reconciliation, forecasting, or business analysis within higher education, student housing, auxiliary services, or another complex organization.
• Experience using enterprise financial systems, reporting tools, housing management systems, or other business information systems.
• Experience preparing financial reports, dashboards, or analytical summaries to support management decision-making.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional projects, business processes, or operational initiatives involving multiple departments or stakeholders.
