Part-time positions teaching introductory courses in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Geography and Geology. Lecturers teach many of the courses listed in the 2026-27 University Catalog and due to recent and pending retirements we are particularly interested in applications from individuals able to teach introductory and advanced geology courses, GIS and Remote Sensing courses, and meteorological/atmospheric science. Opportunities may occasionally arise for teaching evening graduate classes in applied fields such as Engineering Geology. Assistant Area Coordinator (Temporary)	East Bay	April 08, 2026
Employed by the Department of University Housing and Residence Life (UHRL), the Assistant Area Coordinator (AAC) is a full-time, temporary live-in position. The AAC at Cal State East Bay is expected to initiate “high touch” front-line interaction with students as they develop formal and informal relationships. They are expected to build communities that focus on student learning and development, supporting student needs, and inclusivity for all students. The AAC will support and work with their supervisor and team leader(s) in managing the functions of their assigned residential area. This role will not conform to a standard 9:00am to 5:00pm workday rather it requires the individual to work evenings and weekends in order to best meet the needs of the community.
Light Automotive Equipment Operator (2 Positions)	East Bay	April 03, 2026
The Light Automotive Equipment Operator primarily performs skilled operation of light automotive vehicles and equipment in support of campus grounds and maintenance operations. The incumbent operates equipment and vehicles typical of this classification, including light-duty (two-axle) trucks, riding mowers, small wheel-type tractors with attachments, sweepers, utility vehicles, and small loaders within standard capacity limits. The position’s primary function is the safe and efficient operation of light automotive and grounds maintenance equipment, with responsibility for performing routine servicing and minor maintenance such as safety inspections, fluid checks, and basic adjustments to ensure proper working conditions. The incumbent reports equipment malfunctions and coordinates needed repairs. In support of equipment operation, the incumbent performs a range of grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, edging, planting, watering, and debris removal, as well as assisting with campus beautification and seasonal projects. Manual labor duties are performed in connection with equipment use, including loading and unloading materials. Work is performed in accordance with established safety practices, campus procedures, and applicable California Vehicle Code requirements. Equipment operated and duties performed are consistent with light automotive equipment as defined within the Equipment Operation Series and do not typically involve the operation of heavy construction equipment or vehicles exceeding the scope of this classification.
Custodial Coordinator (Administrative Analyst Exempt I)	East Bay	March 03, 2026

Reporting to Facilities Development & Operations, this position plays a key role in coordinating custodial services across academic, administrative, housing, and event spaces. These services support the clinic’s mission to have students achieve and maintain an optimal state of health so they may attain their academic and career goals. The Family Nurse Practitioner evaluates, diagnoses, and treats medical conditions of CSUEB students with an emphasis on preventative care, as per protocol and approved privileges, and under the supervision of a physician. The family nurse practitioner also provides health education and performs health promotion activities, and other administrative duties as assigned, such as serving as lead for licensed and unlicensed nursing staff, as needed. The main function of the Groundsworker position is to maintain the campus grounds in a way that provides a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for the staff, faculty, students and the community. Under general supervision, this position performs work involving some or all of the following: planting, cultivating, fertilizing, spraying and watering ornamental plants, shrubs, hedges, trees, lawns and flowers. The Groundsworker is also responsible for raking, removing weeds, cleaning trash from assigned areas including parking lots; preparing and treating soils for planting, maintaining hoses, sprinklers, tools, supplies and equipment in proper condition and repair. The Building Service Engineer completes independent and on-going performance of maintenance and repair work on a wide range of heating, ventilating, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, air conditioning, and water systems. Building Service Engineers perform work on complex refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Supports backstage and shop operations, helps train and guide student assistants in the safe and proper use of equipment and materials, and ensures facilities and equipment are maintained. Performs related duties as assigned.
Hourly Real Time Captioner POOL (Temporary & Intermittent)	East Bay
The purpose of this position is to provide communication access via real-time captioning services for students, faculty, staff and guests of the campus who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing. Services may be required on-site at one of Cal State East Bay’s three campuses: Hayward, Concord, and/or Oakland. Real-time captioning may be needed in academic courses, meetings, office hours, student groups, and/or campus events. This is an hourly, temporary, intermittent position. Work schedules may vary each academic term depending on operational needs. This position may require working some weekend and evening hours as needed.
Hourly Sign Language Interpreter POOL (Temporary & Intermittent)	East Bay
The purpose of this position is to provide communication access via sign language interpreting services for students, faculty, staff and guests of the campus who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing. Sign language interpreting services may be needed in academic courses, meetings, office hours, student groups, and/or campus events. These services may be required to be provided remotely or on-site at one of Cal State East Bay’s three campuses: Hayward, Concord, and/or Oakland. This is an hourly, temporary, intermittent position. Work schedules may vary each academic term depending on operational needs. The incumbent may be required to work some weekend and evening hours as needed.
Lecturer Pool for Department of Theatre and Dance, AY 2025 - 2026	East Bay
One or more temporary, part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2025 and/or Spring Semester 2026.
