About the Position: 

International Programs collaborates with University departments and colleges on unique programs for students from the community and around the world. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Study Abroad Lead/Coordinator (Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Exempt I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under general direction, the Study Abroad Lead/Coordinator executes and coordinates customized programming as requested by academic partners/clients. The Study Abroad Lead/Coordinator coordinates the development of faculty-led and other customized programs from concept to post-program evaluation including policy research, analysis, development, evaluation, and operational and fiscal analysis related to each program. Independently reviews programs with faculty and/or departments to facilitate and streamline administrative tasks, assess completed programs and improve offerings based on participant feedback and program evaluation. Communicates and corresponds with university partners and vendors related to proposals, program administration, budgets, payments, logistical and program support. Ensures compliance with University policies/procedures, risk management, emergency and code of conduct protocols regarding each program. Administers facilities reservations, catering, logistics, tabling for events and activities and represents department as a liaison with the campus and the community to provide outreach. Administers the planning, production and distribution of print material, web copy, and online content related to programs and applications. Creates and analyzes program budgets and financials to assure fiscal viability and approval of program budgets. Maintains accurate tracking of all custom programs, agreements, and required follow-up with departments, students, and vendors; creates and manages all custom program applications in database. Staff may be assigned to different program portfolios as determined by workloads and strategic planning. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus two years of related experience.

Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.  Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field. Project management experience. Comprehensive knowledge of the CSUF infrastructure, policies, procedures, and systems. Experience living, studying and/or working abroad. Familiarity with international political, social and cultural issues as they pertain to educational exchange.

License/Certifications

Valid California Driver's License and reliable means of transportation.
