Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) certification
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Demonstrated two years of experience as a Sport Performance specialist in a broad-based collegiate setting
  • Demonstrated commitment to successfully work with a diverse student population

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field
  • Knowledge of and adherence to NCAA rules and regulations
  • At least two years of training and working with quality student-athletes
  • Practical knowledge of periodization, Olympic-style lifts, speed development, agility, flexibility, plyometrics, and conditioning
  • Experience as a sport performance coach at the college level
  • Demonstrated ability to coach quality student-athletes
  • Ability to motivate student-athletes to perform at their optimal level
  • Computer skills
  • Public relations skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills


  • Provide strength and conditioning coaching to assigned athletic teams
  • Consult with Sports Medicine in regards to student-athlete injury rehabilitation
  • Coordinating with coaching staff of 19 men’s and women’s athletic teams to design and implement safe and effective pre-season, in-season and off-season sport-specific strength training and conditioning programs
  • Management and supervision of the weight training facility, including resources operations, scheduling, inventory, purchasing of new equipment, and maintenance
  • Development  and implementation of policies and procedures for risk management, appropriate supervision, record keeping, evaluation, and maintenance
  • Supervision of sport performance staff
  • Budget planning and monitoring of annual operations budget for the sport performance program
  • Perform other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator
