
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of the Career Development Center and lead by the Assistant Director of Employer Engagement the Employer Recruitment and Program Coordinator will act in a lead role in coordinating, planning and executing a variety of activities and events that engage students with the employment community. Build partnerships between the university and external communities (business, the public sector and not-for-profit entities) emphasizing development and marketing to expand part-time, career and internship employment opportunities for students. In consultation with employers manage and expand recruitment job listings, and events available to students in CareerLINK. Provide advising and coaching to students and alumni in all aspects of career exploration, decision-making and job search.
Furthermore, this position is responsible for providing services that are equitable, inclusive and provide culturally sensitive services that enhance the quality of campus life, retention, and graduation rate. This position uses a student centered and equity minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, plan and execute recruitment programs and events: Coordinate, plan, develop and implement all administrative policies and procedures necessary for the implementation of program goals, student learning outcomes, objectives and action plans for employer recruitment events and activities.
- Employer and Internship/Job Development: Establish and build relationships with a wide range of employers, including local, regional, national and international employers; maintain regular communication with targeted employers, including alumni employers, via direct contact, email blasts, alumni web pages, and print publications.
- Coordinate Career Development Center Scholarships & Events: Coordinate the Career Development Center's internship scholarship opportunities including marketing, applications acceptance, selection process, communication with students, and financial aid documentation.
- Oversee and reviewing CareerLINK registrations, job/event postings: Oversee the job/internship posting process; ensure the job postings meet Career Development Center, state, and federal guidelines and that the system is fully maximized by students, employers, the Career Services staff, and the campus community.
- Career Advising & Drop In Services: Responsible for career advising and employment assistance to those students and alumni interested in specific professional careers.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of current employment trends and salary structures; student development and counseling theories; and career decision-making and job search processes. Current knowledge of employment and career planning materials; knowledge of alternative approaches to career development and planning needs for individuals with special needs. Knowledge of uses of Career Services Management Systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint on a PC Computer. Strong organizational, program development and communication skills, creative thinking/reasoning abilities and demonstrated competency to oversee multiple tasks with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with colleagues throughout the University, alumni, other constituents and the public. Flexibility and initiative, as well as the ability to work independently, combined with the skills for thriving in a team environment to achieve institutional goals. High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information. Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines. Demonstrated work experience in relationship building among various constituent groups; proven ability to develop and leverage relationships toward achievement of concrete goals. Demonstrated experience identifying, analyzing and creating marketing and promotional activities and campaigns.
Ability to work as lead person in developing and implementing marketing strategies involving collaborative arrangements with professional colleagues. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work independently and collaboratively, and to foster teamwork and resourcefulness. Excellent written communication skills, includes editing and proofreading to produce quality marketing materials. Strong writing skills with the ability to compose creative and concise communications, which are both informative and accurate. Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to be persuasive.
Ability to work as part of a team through close collaboration with colleagues and coordinate with others. Ability to work effectively and productively as part of a team.
Ability to work weekends and a flexible work time as needed and determined by operational needs. Ability to lift, move, and transport equipment/materials (~25 lbs.), within event/program locations and offices throughout Campus. Working knowledge of standard safe work practices. Ability to consistently report to work on time prepared to perform the duties of the position. Strong critical thinking skills; must be able to analyze a problem or opportunity and identify appropriate strategies.

Education and Experience
•Equivalent to a bachelor's degree with upper or graduate coursework in counseling and guidance, human relations, or related fields and three years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas required.
•Minimum of three years of experience in developing and facilitating workshops; making presentations; and exhibiting excellent oral and written communication skills preferred.
Physical Summary
Medium work - Job involves lifting heavy-weight objects (20-40 pounds) and/or 20% - 40% of the job involves standing, squatting, kneeling, or walking. May require pushing or pulling objects within the weight limits.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $5,540 - $6,717 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $5,540 - $7,893 per month.

Time Base
1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment
