Job Summary

Under the supervision of HR Services Manager, the Talent Operations Coordinator ensures the smooth execution of human resources functions within the Division of University Relations & Development by coordinating processes related to position management, recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, payroll, timekeeping, and compliance. This role serves as a key point of contact for division staff, providing operational support and ensuring HR procedures are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with university policies and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment, Onboarding, and Offboarding Support: Support the full employee lifecycle by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and separation processes. Use campus systems to streamline hiring, prepare new hire paperwork, and guide staff through transitions.
  • Payroll & Timekeeping: Coordinate and process monthly payroll for division employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Serve as a key contact for payroll inquiries and manage reports related to vacation accrual and deadlines.
  • Position Management & Compliance: Provide position data to support strategic staffing and ensure compliance with campus policies. Collaborate with leadership to process routine HR processes, conduct audits, and maintain accurate personnel records.
  • Administrative Operations & Records Management: Maintain organized department records and provide general administrative support.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Strong attention to detail and accuracy when preparing payroll forms, auditing leave balances, and maintaining HR records to ensure data integrity and compliance. Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities, such as recruitment tracking, onboarding logistics, and payroll deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with candidates, employees, hiring managers, and cross-functional partners. Proven ability to use HR systems and digital tools (e.g., PeopleSoft, CS Link, SSO, DocuSign, Microsoft Teams) to process transactions, manage data, and support HR workflows. Strong ability to handle confidential information with discretion while managing sensitive data related to payroll, employee records, and personnel actions. Familiarity with payroll coordination and reporting systems to support payroll processing, audit reports, and vacation tracking.

Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to respond to shifting priorities, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to HR operations and special projects. Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.  Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.  Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to five years of related administrative support experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

Physical Summary

Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

CSUEU: Effective 10/1/2025, a new salary step structure and job classifications will be implemented under the CSU-CSUEU Agreement. Job duties will remain unchanged; however, this position may be assigned to a new classification with an updated salary range. Employees will be notified of any changes. Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,058 - $6,653 per month.

Time Base

1.0  time-base, 40 hours per week.

Duration of Appointment

This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
