Job Summary
This position provides primary, hands-on leadership for the ongoing development and maintenance of the key components of the CMS Admissions (AD) Module, including Enrollment Management Module, transcript workflows, and applicant self-service functions to ensure alignment between Cal State Apply, CRM (SLATE) and campus admissions operations. The incumbent applies advanced technical and functional expertise to translate business needs into system specifications, resolve system issues, and coordinate solutions with technical teams and the Chancellor’s Office. This position leads the daily operations of the Admissions System Team. Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Peoplesoft Admissions Module including development of efficiencies, CO reporting, inter-modular communication and collaboration, electronic transcript initiatives, OnBase Workflows and CSULB Enrollment Management module.
- Oversee related online functionality that depends on or interacts with Cal State Apply, including the PeopleSoft Admissions Module, supplemental document workflows (e.g., OnBase) and CRM (SLATE). Ensure accurate data integration and troubleshoot any data transmission issues between Cal State Apply and PeopleSoft and SLATE.
- Lead the functional analysis, implementation support, configuration, testing, and ongoing maintenance of the SLATE CRM platform as it relates to admissions and enrollment communication processing. Determine and maintain required table values, configuration elements, and system setup related to CRM (SLATE) data loads, admissions and communication processing.
- Plan, organize, and manage projects related to Cal State Apply and Admissions Systems initiatives. Produce project deliverables including timelines, issue logs, status reports, analyses, recommendations, and prototypes.
- Provide functional work direction and serve as a senior resource to the Admissions Systems team, offering technical guidance, mentorship, and onboarding support to ensure staff are proficient in admissions systems, processes, and business rules.
- Serve as needed on campus and system-wide committees in support of admission and module objectives. Participate in meetings and planning sessions.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
- Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $7,284 (Step 1) - $7,729 (Step 4) per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
- CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $7,284 (Step 1) - $10,611 (Step 20) per month.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

They possess thorough knowledge of online student information systems, imaging and admissions systems, and CRM platforms, along with subject-matter expertise in admissions and transcript processing. This individual demonstrates the ability to analyze user needs and data requirements, translate them into detailed technical specifications, design, develop, implement, and maintain complex system rules that support business processes. They are highly skilled in utilizing reporting tools such as Crystal and Query to create meaningful end-user reports and have a strong ability to research data availability and access methods. The ideal candidate can interpret and apply academic and administrative policies, exercise sound judgment, and independently carry out assignments without detailed instruction while coordinating workflow effectively. They maintain strong working relationships, ensure data integrity through adherence to approved processes and testing standards, and support operational continuity by thoroughly documenting roles, responsibilities, and outcomes, making such documentation accessible to leadership.

Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Communications, or related technical field and four years of related work experience required.
