Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:  $19,708 to $20,515* mo. ($236,500-$246-185 annually)

The new Dean is expected to start in January 2027.

The next Dean will connect the College’s work, activities, and goals to the University’s mission; build and sustain collegial relationships with faculty, students, staff, and administrators; balance advocacy for the College with the needs of the wider campus; provide stability, coherence, and strategic direction; and attract community and donor support for the College’s programs and research initiatives.

CSUMB, a mid-sized, four-year university of 8,200 students, is the highest residential campus in the CSU system, with 56% of students living on campus. The University employs 186 tenure-line faculty and 380 lecturers, counts 24,000 alumni, and operates on an annual budget of $170 million. The College of Science provides strong academic preparation for a growing and diverse student body (comprised of 2,800 undergraduate and graduate students), using inclusive, high-impact practices to advance students’ career goals and cultivate scientific curiosity, social responsibility, and lifelong learning.
