Major Duties

Under general supervision, the Senior Strategist designs and implements high-impact STEAM educational initiatives, advises executive leadership, and collaborates across sectors to develop innovative educational frameworks. This position oversees strategic planning, grant administration, and partnership engagement, ensuring scalable, culturally responsive, and policy-aligned programming.

  • Leads the strategic design, policy development, and administration of high-impact, workforce-aligned STEAM education initiatives.
  • Oversees the full grant lifecycle—including proposal calls, application review, technical assistance, post-award transitions, and site visit coordination.
  • Advises executive leadership on scalable, culturally responsive, and policy-aligned STEAM-to-career frameworks.
  • Provides high-level strategic leadership in the conceptualization, design, and implementation of innovative STEAM education programs.
  • Leads the strategic development and execution of a multi-tiered partnership strategy with industry, government, philanthropy, and educational institutions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Education, Public Administration, a STEAM discipline, or a related field.
  • Equivalent to six (6) years of full-time, progressively responsible relevant experience in a highly specialized technical/professional area. At least 2 years of progressive leadership in P–20 education, public sector innovation, or nonprofit management.
  • Oversight and administration of a program with supervision and/or lead experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Education, Public Administration, a STEAM discipline, or a related field.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Experience designing regional, statewide, or national educational programs for historically underserved communities.
  • Experience advising executive leadership on policy and strategy.
  • Demonstrated success in integrating data systems and inclusive excellence strategies to track and scale outcomes.
  • Experience developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with multiple educational, public, governmental, and community organizations.
  • Track record of successfully managing large-scale complex projects with an institution-wide, regional, statewide, or national impact and strategic activities around a shared vision for success.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and integrating educational equity, access, and STEM initiatives.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Extensive and in-depth knowledge of future-forward programming that leverages emerging technologies, HSI programming or other high impact practices and interventions and program evaluation methods applicable to high-impact academic or community-based initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise senior leaders, influence policy, and lead multi-partner strategic efforts.
  • Knowledge of future-forward STEAM programming and immersive technology applications.
  • Strong strategic planning, partnership development, and high-level grant administration experience.
  • Proven track record of administrative leadership in programs focused on cultural innovation or educational innovation.
  • Strong analytical and research skills to support long-range planning, policy recommendations, and innovation in programming.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive, public, and academic audiences.
  • Ability to serve as a functional expert and strategic advisor to executives and senior leaders.
  • Outstanding written and verbal skills and the ability to convey complex data, information, and concepts in accessible terms for a range of audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and cultivate an inclusive organizational culture.

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
  • Classification: Admin Analyst/Spclst / 1038 / grade 4
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $8,834 - $10,417 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $6,970 - $13,544 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.  
  • This is a Temporary position; end date to be determined.
  • The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
